Fischer-Tropsch waxes, also known as FT waxes, have a high melting point (generally above 85°) and are mainly composed of straight-chain, saturated high-carbon alkanes with a relative molecular mass of 500-1000, giving the chemical a fine crystalline structure, high melting point, narrow melting point range, low oil content, low needle penetration, low fluidity, low melt viscosity, high hardness, wear resistance and high stability.

Fischer Tropsch Wax Features

Fischer-Tropsch waxes have a fine crystal structure. As one of the suppliers of Fischer-Tropsch waxes, our FT waxes are also characterised by high melting point, narrow melting range, low oil content, low permeability, low flowability, low melt viscosity, high hardness, wear resistance and high stability.

Fischer Tropsch Wax Uses

  • 33 Fischer-Tropsch wax is mainly used in the chemical industry such as chlorinated paraffins
  • 45 Fischer-Tropsch wax is mainly used in the production of high-end craft candles, but also in the rubber and plastic processing, chlorinated paraffin waxes and other industries
  • 52 Fischer-Tropsch waxes are mainly used as special waxes in the production of high-end craft candles, but also in the rubber and plastic processing, textile softener and chlorinated paraffin industries
  • 60 Fischer-Tropsch wax is mainly used as a raw material for the production of CP-70, which can be used in the rubber and plastic processing, rubber auxiliaries, textile softeners and craft candles industries.
  • 70 Fischer-Tropsch wax is mixed with microcrystalline wax to form an amorphous, dense and thick wax film, which prevents ozone penetration and is mainly used in the production of protective rubber waxes.
  • 85 Fischer-Tropsch wax is widely used in the manufacture of masterbatches, plastic steel, PVC pipes, hot-melt adhesives, rubber, shoe polish, leather polish, floor wax, plastic profiles, ink, injection moulding, etc.
  • 90 Fischer-Tropsch wax is used in rubber protective waxes, in the plastics processing industry, as well as in inks and coatings, and is also an ideal synthetic wax for ECA-based hot-melt adhesives.
  • 95 Fischer-Tropsch waxes are used in the plastics, cosmetic and food industries as a substitute for vegetable waxes and other media, as additives to substrates and as conditioning agents in the production of creams and pastes. It can be used in the production of plastic and rubber additives, such as injection moulding, extrusion and masterbatches, as well as in inks and coatings, where it contributes to the dispersibility and lubricity of the mix.
  • 100 Fischer-Tropsch wax can be used in plastics processing such as injection moulding and extrusion as well as in the masterbatch, ink and coating industries, contributing to the dispersibility and slip of the compound.
  • 110 Fischer-Tropsch wax Used in plastics, rubber, hot-melt adhesives, inks, coatings, automobiles, cosmetics, etc.

FAQs of FT Wax

The significant differences between Fischer-Tropsch synthetic waxes and the common polyethylene wax (PE wax) are:

  1. The different relative molecular masses. The molecular weight of Fischer-Tropsch waxes is much lower than that of PE waxes, and the branched chains are also smaller. The high crystallinity makes it easy to penetrate into the high-viscosity macromolecular chains, significantly reducing the melt viscosity, with little migration during processing and a significant lubricating effect at a later stage.
  2. Fischer-Tropsch waxes are saturated direct alkanes, which do not contain double bonds and have a high resistance to oxidation and good weather resistance.
  3. The viscosity of Fischer-Tropsch wax is much lower than that of PE wax. It is only about 10 mPa.s. The same lubricating effect can be achieved with less dosage. The amount used is only 70-80% of PE wax.
  1. The product with a melting point of about 60 degrees obtained by Fischer-Tropsch wax through short-range rectification can completely replace petroleum wax for candles, crayons, and wax paper.
  2. The production of refined Fischer-Tropsch wax products has been widely used. Fischer-Tropsch wax is a new variety in the wax market, mainly used as a substitute for traditional products such as petroleum wax and stearic acid. At present, crude wax and refined wax are available in the market, and refined wax is mainly circulated by high melting point wax.
