Description of Polyether Polyol

Polyether polyols are chemicals commonly used in the manufacture of general-purpose polyurethane foams, adhesives, and elastomers. Special polyether polyols are also used as defoamer, surfactant and so on.

Polymers whose main chains contain ether bonds (-R-O-R -) and whose end groups or side groups contain more than 2 hydroxyl groups (-OH) are collectively referred to as polyether polyols. At room temperature, it is a colorless to brown viscous liquid, usually soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, halogenated hydrocarbons, alcohols, ketones, and hygroscopic. Under the action of catalyst, polyhydroxyl or polyamine compounds were used as starting agents to synthesize with oxidized olefin by ring-opening homopolymerization or copolymerization. For example, glycerol reacts with propylene oxide and ethylene oxide to produce polyether triol with molecular weight of 3000 ~ 5000, which is often used in the manufacture of universal polyurethane foam, adhesives and elastomers. Special polyether polyols are also used as defoamer, surfactant and so on.

Application and Dosage of Polyether Polyol

Polyether polyol is an important chemical raw material, and its application is very wide.

1.Polyurethane products: Polyether polyols are important raw materials for the production of polyurethane foams, insulation materials, elastomers, adhesives and coatings. These surfactants are widely used in petroleum, chemical, pesticide, textile, daily chemical and other industries.
3.Lubricants: Polyether polyols can be used as lubricants, such as hydraulic fluids, heat exchange fluids, etc. In addition, polyether polyols can be used as cutting fluids and drafting agent components in metalworking.
4.Organic solvents: Polyether polyols can be used as organic solvents to dissolve various substances and synthesize many organic substances, such as dyes, polymers, fungicides, pesticides, lubricating oils, cosmetics, etc. In addition, polyether polyols can be used as washing solvents to wash clothes and remove dust.
5.Other areas: In addition to the above-mentioned application areas, polyether polyols can also be used in the production of fireproof materials, sealing materials, elastic fibers, etc. At the same time, polyether polyols can also be used as raw materials for electroplating solutions, coatings, pigments, dyes, etc.
