The Best Raw Material for Candles: Fully Refined Paraffin Wax

What is fully refined paraffin wax

Paraffin wax is a lubricating oil fraction obtained from crude oil distillation, which is obtained by solvent refining, solvent dewaxing, or by freezing and crystallization of wax, pressing and dewaxing to obtain wax paste, and then deoiling and supplementary refining.

After different degrees of processing and refining, paraffin wax can be divided into fully refined paraffin wax, semi-refined paraffin wax and crude paraffin wax. The difference between these three is the difference in oil content. Fully refined paraffin has the lowest oil content and is the best quality used to make candles.

solid paraffin

Compared with other wax raw materials, the advantages of fully refined paraffin

  1. Low oil content and moderate tensile strength.
  2. The refining degree is deep and the chemical stability is good.

  3. The crystal structure and hardness are suitable, and the deformation resistance is good.

  4. The fluidity of molten wax is good.

  5. White color, no smell, no greasy feeling.

Different from the low melting point of soybean wax, it is not suitable for column wax. This wax is ideal for making cylindrical candles, hand-dipped thin candles, moulded candles, shaped or engraved gift candles. This wax is very hard and does not retain its fragrance. This type of wax is needed to make the above types of wax so that the candle does not sag on its own as it cools. If you make candles with this wax, you need to use additives.

Other uses other than making candles:

Fully refined paraffin has a wide range of uses, mainly used as components and packaging materials for food, products and certain commodities (such as wax paper, crayons, candles, carbon paper), coating materials for baking containers, for fruit preservation, electrical components insulation, Improve rubber aging resistance and increase flexibility. It can also be used for oxidation to generate synthetic fatty acids.

As a latent heat energy storage material, paraffin has the advantages of large latent heat of phase transition, small volume change during solid-liquid phase transition, good thermal stability, no supercooling phenomenon, and low price. Moreover, the development of aviation, microelectronics and optoelectronic technologies often requires that a large amount of heat dissipation generated by high-power components can only be dissipated in a limited heat dissipation area and in a very short period of time, while low melting point phase change materials are relatively high melting point phase change materials.

Variable materials can quickly reach the melting point, make full use of latent heat to achieve temperature control, and have a relatively short thermal response time. The many advantages of paraffin have made it widely used in aviation, microelectronics and other high-tech systems, as well as building energy saving and other fields.

As a veteran in the fully refined paraffin wax industry, Dongke Group has 10 years of export experience, and the factory has a history of 20 years. We are confident to provide the best price and highest quality products in the Chinese market.
