Paraffin

Paraffin is a common industrial product in life, so what is the role of paraffin? In fact, the role of paraffin is relatively more.

  1. The oil content of crude paraffin is relatively large, and it can be used to make moisture-proof and waterproof wrapping paper.
  2. Paraffin can be used to make detergents, emulsifiers, greases, etc.
  3.  Paraffin can make textiles soft and smooth and elastic.
  4. The heat storage capacity of paraffin is relatively excellent, and it can be used in the production of high-tech products. The above is the role of paraffin wax. Paraffin wax has many uses in production, and paraffin wax appears in many products.

The role and use of paraffin wax:

Paraffin is used to make higher fatty acids, higher alcohols, matches, candles, water repellants, ointments, electrical insulating materials, etc. Paraffin wax is divided into food grade (food grade and packaging grade, the former is preferred) and industrial grade, food grade is non-toxic, and industrial grade non-coarse paraffin wax is mainly used to make matches, fiberboard, canvas, etc. due to its high oil content.

Paraffin wax is a hydrocarbon mixture extracted from some distillates of petroleum, shale oil or other bituminous mineral oils. Paraffin is amorphous but has a distinct crystalline structure. Another artificial paraffin. Paraffin wax is a kind of petroleum processing products, a kind of mineral wax, and a kind of petroleum wax.

It is a flake or needle-like crystal obtained from the lubricating oil fraction obtained by distillation of crude oil through solvent refining, solvent dewaxing or wax freezing crystallization, pressing and dewaxing to obtain wax paste, and then solvent deoiling and refining.

After adding polyolefin additives to paraffin, its melting point is increased, adhesion and flexibility are increased, and it is widely used in moisture-proof and waterproof packaging paper, cardboard, surface coating of certain textiles and candle production.

The lubricating oil fraction obtained from crude oil distillation is solvent refining, solvent dewaxing or wax freezing crystallization, pressing and dewaxing to obtain wax paste, and then solvent deoiling and refining to obtain flake or needle-shaped crystals. Also called crystalline wax.

The main components are n-alkanes, and there are also a small amount of alkanes with individual branched chains and cycloalkanes with long side chains. The main quality indicators are melting point and oil content, the former means temperature resistance, the latter means purity.

According to the degree of processing and refining, it can be divided into three types: fully refined paraffin wax, semi-refined paraffin wax and crude paraffin wax. In the past, the two were widely used, mainly used as components and packaging materials for food and other commodities, coating materials for baking containers, cosmetic raw materials, for fruit preservation, improving the anti-aging and flexibility of rubber, insulating electrical components, Precision casting, wax paper, candles, composite paper, etc.

Because of its high oil content, crude paraffin is mainly used in the manufacture of matches, fiberboards, tarpaulins, etc. After adding polyolefin additives to paraffin, its melting point is increased, adhesion and flexibility are increased, and it is widely used in moisture-proof and waterproof packaging paper, cardboard, surface coating of certain textiles and candle production.
