Polycarboxylic acid water reducing agent is a new concrete additive first developed and applied by Japan in the mid-1980s. Mainly through the copolymerization of unsaturated monomers under the action of the initiator, the side chain with active groups is branched onto the polymer’s main chain, which makes it simultaneously highly efficient, controls slump loss and resists shrinkage, and does not affect water condensation. Condensation and hardening, etc., resulting in the application of extremely high water reduction rate and minimal slump loss. Even at low dosage, it can make concrete have high fluidity, and it also has low viscosity and slump retention performance at low water-cement ratio. It has better compatibility with different cements and is an indispensable material for high-strength and high-flow concrete. The active monomers of the synthetic water reducing agent are mainly unsaturated lipids and unsaturated ethers. They are the main contributors to the functional structure of the water reducing agent. The water reducing monomer is the most important raw material for the production of water reducing agent.
